Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame director duo the Russo Brothers aren’t slowing down with their The Electric State adaptation. After the initial announcement of Millie Bobby Brown being attached to the project, more actors joined the cast. The upcoming sci-fi film will feature some big names in Hollywood, supported by a $200 million budget. The Electric State is set to release sometime in 2024 on Netflix.
The Electric State Invites More Hollywood Icons to Join the Cast
First announced back in 2017 with Andy Muschietti taking the director’s chair, The Electric State originally had the Russo Brothers acting as producers. Three years later, in 2020, the guys switched seats, with Muschetti now producing under his Double Dream company. Screenwriting team Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (The Chronicles of Narnia series, Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Gray Man) are behind the pages for the project.
Now, the film is gathering the remaining slots for its cast with a wide range of well-known actors. Chris Pratt, Stanley Tucci, Jenny Slate, Brian Cox, and Jason Alexander were soon attached to the project following Millie Bobby Brown’s casting. The Electric State has recently added Anthony Mackie (whom the Russo Brothers have worked with previously with a few Marvel projects), Billy Bob Thornton, Giancarlo Esposito, and Ke Huy Quan.
Fans can expect The Electric State adaptation to arrive in 2024 on Netflix. Filming has already commenced, with shooting currently happening in Atlanta.
