The Resident Evil 3 Remake was finally officially announced during the PlayStation’s State of Play this week. It raised a few eyebrows because of the quick turnaround, turns out the immediate release was not down to insane crunch time, but actually because Capcom wanted to sell Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remakes as a bundle.

Speaking to Kinda Funny Games, Imran Khan, who previously worked for Game Informer, said that sources close to Capcom revealed they wanted to bundle the games together. The reason they did not do that is because of constant delays. Resident Evil 2 was already pushed back an entire year. Capcom added Resident Evil Resistance to Resident Evil 3 to give it some extra substance.

Khan speculated on the timeframe for the game and concluded that they added Resident Evil Resistance to justify the quick launch.

Resident Evil Resistance is a multiplayer game where four players try to escape from an evil mastermind, who is also a player! The mastermind watches through security cameras and can generate traps and monsters to stop the survivors.

Resident Evil 3 has an awesome collector’s edition, with an excellent 11″ Jill Valentine statue, a S.T.A.R.S Box, and more. But, it’s exclusive to GameStop with no word on accessibility for EU territories.
