A few weeks ago, Slashfilm reported that Rosario Dawson had been cast as Ahsoka Tano in the hit Disney+ series The Mandalorian. While speaking with Variety about the potential casting, Dawson was said to be “tight-lipped on joining the Disney Plus series” but she did thank the fans for their support:

So, it seems that Dawson’s casting as Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian season 2 isn’t a matter of if it becomes official but when it becomes official.

For anyone who isn’t familiar with this character and wondering why a lot of Star Wars fans are excited by this news, Ahsoka Tano is a fan-favorite character in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. If Ahsoka does appear in The Mandalorian season 2, it would be the character’s first live-action appearance and provide fans with an idea of what the character has been up to.

Other The Mandalorian Season 2 Rumors

Dawson isn’t the only person attached to join The Mandalorian. Michael Biehn will reportedly play a bounty hunter from Mando’s past. Biehn is best known for his role as Kyle Reese in The Terminator. Along with Biehn, there are rumors that Jamie Lee Curtis and WWE’s Sasha Banks could make appearances in the series as well. Their possible roles are still unknown at this time.

According to series co-star Gina Carano, The Mandalorian wrapped up filming on season 2 in early March. The series currently plans to air its second season sometime in Fall 2020.
