There have been some complaints that Rockstar’s L.A. Noire is overheating PS3’s and making them turn off involuntarily. However, Rockstar points the finger at Sony and its recent implementation of the PS3 Firmware revision 3.61. Reports came into the developer that while playing L.A. Noire, players would hear beeping noises followed by a their console shutting down. The problems seem to have been narrowed to older fat PS3 models of the 60GB and 80GB varieties.
Rockstar had these instructions and updates on its website, but has since pulled the page from the web. So right now, it’s unclear what exactly is the problem for the people that are experiencing these problems.
Firmware revision 3.62 incoming? If the PS3 FW 3.61 is the culprit, I guess it’s likely.
