A new teaser trailer for a Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling released today on Netflix’s Twitter account. The first trailer, located at the bottom of this article, released at SDCC 2017. This teaser trailer showcases it coming to the Netflix subscription service. Static Cling is set to come out August 9, 2019. The new movie is set after the events of the late 90s TV show on Nickelodeon. Rocko’s Modern Life follows an Australian wallaby and his friends, Heffer the cow, and Filburt the turtle. The episodes consisted of these three getting into mischief in their town of O-Town. Below is the newest teaser trailer from Netflix’s Twitter page:

The synopsis for Static Cling goes something like this:

Given that the show hasn’t aired in twenty years it’ll be interesting to see how they handle making it popular for modern times. The creator of the show, Joe Murray did have this to say about it (Via Entertainment Weekly). 

It sounds like the creators behind Rocko’s Modern Life understand what they have and where they need to take it to become something good for today’s viewers. It will no doubt give older viewers that grew up with shows like this, including that of Hey Arnold and Invader Zim, a sense of nostalgia.
