Developer Teyon and publisher Nacon have officially announced the release date for its brand new game based on the iconic RoboCop franchise, RoboCop: Rogue City. This new first-person shooter will be coming to consoles and PC in the summer of 2023, and Nacon has released a new gameplay trailer to show off footage from the game.

RoboCop: Rogue City Release Date and Gameplay Trailer

Publisher Nacon originally announced the development of RoboCop: Rogue City about a year ago, alluding to a 2023 release date. The initial teaser trailer back then gave a good glimpse at what the game would offer, but the first full trailer to show off gameplay was released today.

In the world of RoboCop: Rogue City, set around the same time period as the events of the original 1987 RoboCop film, violent crime in Detroit runs rampant, and RoboCop must remain on the scene to stop it! He will need to contend with bank robberies, hostage situations, and gang violence, as well as ED-209, his nemesis from the original film. Actor Peter Weller will return to voice RoboCop.

“The triumphant return of RoboCop wouldn’t feel right without the man who brought so much life into the role, and we’re excited to reveal that Peter Weller will be performing voiceover work on the game. Enjoy this first look at gameplay, and for the record, ‘dead or alive, you’re coming with me!’”, the developer said in a statement.

Nacon CEO Alain Falc said when RoboCop: Rogue City was announced:

“We’re delighted to be teaming up with MGM to offer a new vision of a popular franchise that was created over 30 years ago. This game is the perfect fit to pursue our aim of offering different gaming experiences to the widest possible audience.”

The game aims to combine first-person shooter gameplay with an exploration of the streets of Detroit and multiple-choice dialogue. The developer, Teyon, is also known for having worked on Terminator: Resistance, as well as Rambo: The Video Game.

RoboCop: Rogue City is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X/S in June 2023.
