Back in Iron Man 2, Tony Stark, aka Robert Downey Jr., once said that “no one can make an Iron Man suit even after 5 or 10 years.” However, now that Iron Heart is coming, she’s made her own Iron Man suit, from 2010 all the way to 2025, it took 15 years to make another Iron Man suit. The very first Iron Man movie took place in 2008 as an American superhero movie based on the extremely famous Marvel comics with the character Tony Stark…who built an Iron Man suit. Robert Downey Jr. took on the role of Tony Stark alongside actors Terrence Howard, Jeff Bridges, Shaun Toub, and Gwyneth Paltrow. This film went over the beginning story of how Tony Stark became Iron Man, showing us him being captured and tortured to make war machines…which then caused him to make a suit to escape. After this film, two more Iron Man movies were released, Iron Man 2 in 2010 and Iron Man 3 in 2013.

Iron Man Gave Advice To The One Continuing His Legacy

Robert Downey Jr., who plays Iron Man, gave some advice to the one who is now carrying on his legacy in the MCU…Ironheart‘s Dominique Thorne while she was filming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever which is setting up the way for Ironheart. The actress has taken on the role of a new young genius for the MCU named Riri Williams, also known as Ironheart. Riri Williams will be getting her own series in the Fall of 2023 on Disney+ after we met her in the latest Black Panther movie.

During a talk with Screen Rant, actress Dominique Thorne talked about how she got a chance to talk with Robert Downey Jr. for advice on their role, which does hold a huge weight on its shoulders for Iron Man fans. “I wasn’t able to speak with RDJ before we got into filming or anything, but right toward the conclusion of the film, I actually had a chance to speak with him through FaceTime. A cast mate over Ironheart had actually done a show with him and connected us.”

Beloved Robert Downey Jr. gave the young actress some advice to help her continue on the legacy of Tony Stark after his death in Endgame. “He had some beautiful words to say about how much he believes that Riri Williams is and should always be her own person,  her own thing. That this legacy is headed in the right direction and all the beautiful encouraging things that you hope to hear from the Iron Man himself.”

It is heartwarming to see that Robert Downey Jr. is excited and encouraging about where his legacy as Iron Man is going. Many of us probably had no idea that his creation and the beautiful story would turn this way, but it is touching to see where it is going from here. And the fact that someone did make a suit…it just took 15 years to make another Iron Man suit.
