When Was Jen Shah Sentenced?

On Friday, January 6, 2023, the TV personality took the stand at the Manhattan Court, ready to face the verdict. Judge Stein, who presided over her case, made it known that Shah’s role in the infamous Bravo show should be separated from her real-life personality. Stein stated:

Judge Stein also described the 49-year-old as “the leader” of her conspiracy. Attorney Robert Sobelman, who represented the federal government, shared that “every cooperator” mentioned Jen Shah as the boss.

The TV personality’s attorney Priya Chaudry relayed that the accused was sorry and that she had faith in the justice system of the country. Chaudry added that Shah “will pay her debt to society.” This statement was made ahead of her sentencing.

In response, Sobelman shared that the media personality did not seem remorseful as there was not “one message from her that indicated such. He relayed that Jen Shah did not even feel that way when she initially pled guilty.

When Jen Shah pleaded guilty in July 2022, it was in connection to a scheme that robbed thousands of people of their funds. The program mainly targeted senior citizens. On Friday, she arrived at court sporting a camel-colored trench-style outfit, dark shades, and a leopard print clutch purse.

According to Page Six, the OG housewife arrived with her spouse Sharrieff Shah a former attorney and college basketball coach. Their two sons were also present. Sharrieff had written to the judge leading up to the sentencing requesting a less severe sentence. He cited his wife’s past criminal record as a reason for his request.

Her attorneys also sought a three-year term which was part of her plea deal in December. Shah’s sentencing was moved from November to December until the court decided to converge after the holidays. The TV star is expected to commence her prison term by February.
