RHOBH star Erika Jayne is in some financial hot water. For those out of the loop, her ex-husband (allegedly) bought her earrings with money he stole from clients. Rumor is that she knew this was going on and benefitted as much from it as her husband did. An accusation she denies. But people have noted she has done nothing to help the people her ex ripped off, either. A fact that doesn’t paint her in a favorable light.

She also has been court-ordered to give up a pair of diamond earrings worth a whopping $1.4 million.

She is now officially appealing that request, and that also doesn’t exactly make people believe her, either. Was she a victim in this as well? Or was she as shady as her husband and is only now being taken to task? And lastly, will she be held accountable at the end of all this?

RHOBH star Erika Jayne Battles $1.4 Million Court Order

Via RealityTea:

“The judge added that he did not believe Erika had knowledge that the jewelry was bought with allegedly stolen funds. Their story is Tom bought the earrings for Erika back in 2007 for $750k. He allegedly used money directly from a client’s trust account. The appreciated value of the earrings are now $1.4 million. And per the court order, Erika can’t sell them for cash either. Original court filings from the trustee state. ‘Erika has no legal or equitable right to the Diamond Earrings and the same are legally and equitably valuable assets of the GK Bankruptcy Estate that the Trustee can and should sell.’”

RHOBH star Erika Jayne is playing on some thin ice. She may only be digging herself a deeper hole the more she denies culpability. But here’s the part we don’t understand. We cover a lot of stories like this, and our takeaways are always the same. Why are people who are already financially well off so quick to screw over people who aren’t?

It’s a sad cycle, honestly. But the more they are held responsible, the less it will happen.
