RHOA Cynthia Bailey finally opens up about her divorce from Mike Hill. The two initially announced their split in a press release just a mere few weeks ago. Moreover, the divorce news fell on the heels of their two year anniversary. That would be a hard blow for any relationship. But in a bit of good news, the split is amicable, and the two intend to stay good friends. That alone shows their maturity. Most Real Housewives splits become all out wars between spouses. But her reasoning behind the split is very candid and just may surprise you.

Bailey points out that the two just didn’t have the foundation of friendship to build off. This quickly squashed any rumors of infidelity that was circling. Their problem was they met and skipped the friendship step. In the end, that was the spike that drove them apart.

“Now Cynthia is ready to speak candidly about what caused her divorce from Mike. She appeared on Tamra Judge and Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave’s Two Ts in a Pod podcast, where she revealed the “final straw” that led to the pair’s breakup. “I felt like we weren’t friends anymore,” Cynthia said. “I felt like it was just going toward ‘we’re just not going to be friends’ if we didn’t pump the brakes,” Cynthia noted how it wasn’t her first marriage or divorce, and she could notice the signs that the relationship dynamic was off. “This is not my first rodeo,” she explained. “I think friendship just has to be there in a marriage.” When it comes to marriage, Cynthia can only be with someone who can be her “best friend.”
