Developer Terminist Arcade is embracing the old-school FPS days with its upcoming retro title, HYPERVIOLENT. A pixelated sci-fi adventure with horror elements, the game aims to relive those nostalgic days behind digital weaponry. HYPERVIOLENT is coming to PC via Early Access this September 8, and it’ll initially launch with several campaign levels and other additional content.
Something Strange is Aboard the Station in HYPERVIOLENT
Commodus Asteroid 27-C is under attack from a strange space infection. Its inhabitants are brutally enduring it, leaving it up to you to solve the issues at hand. We’ll explore various areas at the space station while interacting with multiple fixtures and activities. NPCs will also be aboard the station, and we’ll have to figure out what went wrong here. But, of course, the trouble lurks around, which means it’s time to take care of business.
HYPERVIOLENT acts like a love letter to 1990s FPS titles that incorporate sci-fi narratives to serve as a backdrop to pixelated and engaging action. The game features plenty of violence and gore in spectacular retro fashion, ultimately bringing some players back to the good ole days. To add to the madness, HYPERVIOLENT allows the player to dual-wield any single-handed weapons to help them along their journeys on the asteroid. Evidently, we have the trailer here for HYPERVIOLENT to rightfully showcase what Terminist Arcade and publisher Fulqrum Publishing have in store for us.
For any interested retro players, HYPERVIOLENT will be launching onto Early Access for Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store on September 8. The first stages of the Early Access phase will feature five levels from the campaign, two boss fights, 12 different weapons, and more that will accumulate up to five hours of gameplay. More content will be available down the line as Terminist Arcade continues to work on HYPERVIOLENT.
