Get it now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
EA and Respawn Entertainment have officially launched Apex Legends, a Battle Royale style game set in the Titanfall universe. While news of the release had leaked previously, today’s livestream revealed the new title along with releasing it into the wild immediately. You can get the game right now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
What is Apex Legends? Well, that’s still a bit of a mystery, but it’s one that will be answered as soon as gamers get the game downloaded onto their platform of choice. We know it’s a Battle Royale shooter experience set in Respawn’s Titanfall universe, but the titular mechs won’t be making an appearance in this game. Instead you’ll be playing as a regular human or robot who can use some neat tricks to take out their enemies.
“Apex Legends delivers a squad-based battle royale experience with a uniquely Respawn flavor,” reads the announcement. “Players will select from one of eight Legends – each with their own unique abilities and playstyles – and the last team standing wins. Combatants can choose from unique characters like Bloodhound, the tracker who can see recent enemy activity on the map, or Lifeline, a battlefield medic who can shield teammates and bring them back from the brink of death. Balanced squads and teamwork are critical, as each Legend is easy to pick up and learn, but challenging to master.”
If all of this sounds good, then you’re in luck because Apex Legends is free-to-play. Just head to Origin, the PlayStation Store, or the Xbox Game Store and grab the game to start playing. As for what you might spend money on, that will include loot boxes and in-game cosmetics, so nothing too game breaking if you want to stick to the free model.
