Resident Evil Resistance is the multiplayer aspect of the upcoming Resident Evil 3 remake that pits 4 survivors against 1 mastermind controlling the enemies in a level. Although it is apart of the Resident Evil 3 remake bundle, Resistance won’t be canon to the series.
This comes from Producer Peter Fabiano who sat down with Official PlayStation Magazine (via GamesRadar) to talk about Resident Evil Resistance. Fabiano stated that the mode is “basically set in Raccoon City with scenarios that make it impossible to fit in the actual timeline”.
Instead of being connected to Resident Evil 3 from a storyline perspective, Resident Evil Resistance will share some of the same themes as the remake. Later in the interview, Fabiano said:
Thankfully, it looks like we can all play Resident Evil Resistance without worrying about how it fits into the game’s already murky timeline.
