The official website for the Rent A Girlfriend anime has finally announced a release date for season 2. The announcement came in the form of a character promotional video starring Chizuru Mizuhara in the form of a “date visual”. At the same time, the anime will premiere in the Super Animeism programming block on MBS, TBS, and 26 other affiliates. The main cast for Rent a Girlfriend is expected to return for season 2. But at the same time, there is no word about an English dub for the second season or if it will be available.
Along with the cast, the full staff and team from the first season are also expected to return. This includes Kazuomi Koga (Welcome to Rainy Color) directing, and TMS Entertainment (Prince of Tennis II) supervising the scripts.
Rent a Girlfriend: The Season 2 Set Up
The first anime season premiered on the Animeism programming block in July 2020. It originally aired for 12 episodes. Crunchyroll then streamed the anime to countries outside of Asia. The story is described as,
The Rent a Girlfriend manga was first launched in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in July 2017. Kodansha Comics then began publishing the manga in English. The series then received a manga anthology on August 17th, 2020. Since its release, the manga also inspired a live-action television series that will also premiere in July.
As of now, the Rent a Girlfriend anime’s season 2 will premiere on July 1st, 2022.
