When Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 855 Plus, Redmi vowed that it would soon launch a smartphone powered by this souped-up flagship chipset. Well, we didn’t expect Redmi to launch a smartphone so soon, but the Chinese giant today refreshed its first-ever flagship – Redmi K20 Pro with the Snapdragon 855 chipset in tow.
Not much has changed on the design and hardware front in this Exclusive Edition variant, except for under-the-hood upgrades. Redmi K20 Pro Exclusive Edition is powered by the Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, where the primary core is overclocked to 2.96GHz and its Adreno 640 GPU is now overclocked to 672MHz clock speed.
The new Redmi K20 Pro Exclusive Edition has been priced starting at 2,699 yuan (around Rs. 27,250) for the 8GB+128GB variant. The other models are 8GB+512GB and 12GB+512GB, which will be retailing at 2,999 yuan (around Rs. 30,000) and 3,199 yuan (around Rs. 32,000) respectively.
