Anyone who has ever experienced a panic attack can tell you that you genuinely feel like you are dying. Your heart races, you can’t catch your breath, and some people even lose consciousness. This is only a month after the brave star revealed her own Bipolar II diagnosis. A condition that can lend itself to panic attacks like the one she experienced. Luckily, she acted quickly and is getting the help she needs.

It can be challenging to get help when it comes to unseen problems such as mental issues. It took great courage for Holmes to get the help she needed regarding her Bipolar II diagnosis. She claimed she got the diagnosis during a “psychotic break.” Sadly, that diagnosis was not the end of her troubles. Recovery and healing tend to be a long road.

“The day started out with me accidentally locking myself out at 7:45 am. I didn’t get back inside until around 11:30 am. Then around 12:30 pm I suffered what I thought was a heart attack at the age of 31 whilst at the grocery store with Cameron. Someone helped me call 911. I rode in an ambulance to the hospital where I was for HOURS and found out it wasn’t a heart attack, it was something called costochondritis paired with a lovely SEVERE panic attack.”

Real Housewives of New Jersey Ashlee Holmes was hospitalized, but it seems she has started her long road to recovery. It won’t be an easy journey, but she clearly has the strength and fortitude to see it through. We wish her well. We also applaud her for making her struggles public.
