The specific quote reads “It is difficult for us to promise to continuously ship all of the amiibo figures. We will, however, consider additional production in cases such as when an amiibo figure sells out shortly after launch, an amiibo is indispensable to play a certain game, and when we receive a lot of requests for an amiibo figure from consumers and retailers.”

The actual slide shows that while other figures sold more overall, the top amiibo for sell through rates were Marth, Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Pit, Captain Falcon, and many of the others that collectors have been complaining about since launch. Many of these figures were sold out within the first day after launch, meaning Nintendo might consider some additional production runs on these ultra amiibos.

We’ve already seen this happen with one amiibo, Marth. This is likely due to all three reasons that Nintendo gave fitting his figure perfectly. Not only has he sold out nearly everywhere, but he will also be used in an upcoming game, and has been highly requested by fans. It seems that others that fit this bill might get the same treatment in the future.
