As technology has advanced over the years, video games have become significantly more impressive. Photorealistic graphics and virtual reality may even blur the line between fiction and reality. It’s not just games that have improved. If we look around our houses, we are sure to find plenty of useful devices that didn’t exist 100, or even 50, years ago. Of course, there are some technological advancements that are still out of reach. Take time travel, for example. People have often fantasized about what it would be like to visit the past or the future. Video games are a great way to explore this concept. Cosmonaut Studios’ new puzzle-adventure game, Eternal Threads, turns the player into a time-traveling hero, sent back to the past to save lives.
Cause and Effect Play an Important Role in the Game
In Eternal Threads, the player is Operator 43, an agent who rights past wrongs. In this particular case, six people lost their lives in a fire, and it’s the player’s job to protect those lives. According to today’s press release, that’s easier said than done.
That’s where the “puzzle” part of this puzzle-adventure game comes in. Certain changes may be insignificant, while others may drastically change the course of events leading up to the fire. Because Eternal Threads relies on player choice, it stands to reason that the game features multiple endings.
If you want to play Eternal Threads, you don’t need to travel into the future to get it. It’s out now on Steam.
