Today, the release of Martha is Dead is arriving to players on the majority of all major devices. The psychological thriller set during World War 2 will give players a dark and gritty look into war-torn Italy. In addition, players can now play the long-awaited game from LKA Studios.
Set in Italy in 1944, this beautiful country’s alternative world has become darkened by the tragedies of World War 2. Now living in a world of superstition to see them through. Players will step into the shoes of the twin sister of Martha, having to now contend with the death of her sister. She’ll have to explore the Italian countryside, right as the Allies and Axis armies begin to clash, turning the nation upside down.
PlayStation 4 and 5 will have a physical version with a reversible sleeve, fold-out double-sided poster, collectible sticker sheet, and a digital download Tarot card pack. Also, there is the PlayStation 5 exclusive collector’s edition. The limited quantity edition will only have 1,000 produced. This edition can only be purchased exclusively via the Wired Productions Store. These editions are priced at $170 each.

For anyone looking to purchase Martha is Dead for PlayStation. IGN has confirmed reports that the PlayStation version had parts of the game removed or modified. After speaking with the publisher, Wired Interactive IGN had confirmed that PlayStation had removed interactivity from scenes. The scenes where players slice and peel off a corpse’s face and cut open the womb of a corpse with scissors.
Removal of in-game references to masturbation, while the PlayStation version contains more detailed content warnings at the beginning of the game than other versions. In addition, optional modes to the PlayStation version allow players to completely censor and remove these scenes from the game alongside other scenes depicting miscarriage and suicide. But, all versions contain the feature to censor scenes of self-harm in the final chapter.
Martha is Dead will also include a message from the charity Safe in Our World to help players struggling with mental health. In addition, a message will be on all versions at the beginning and end of the game.
