The PS4 Neo has been being talked about for months now and was finally revealed as the PS4 Pro on Wednesday. All games coming out moving forward will be compatible for both PS4 and PS4 Pro, with the latter having enhancements in some games. Some older games will also be able to be patched by their developer, but there were some concerns that these may not be free.

According to Kotaku, Sony Interactive Entertainment executive Masayasu Ito made it sound like in an interview with Game Impress Watch that patches for older games that could add 4K and HDR support could be charged for, whether it was from a third-party publisher or Sony Interactive Entertainment themselves.

This really is great news to hear, as it means that anybody that buys a PS4 Pro will certainly have the best version of that game on PS4 without question without having to pay anything further. Charging for patches like this could have set a bad precedent, so it is good that it is not true.
